Blueberries can be a fantastic addition to your dogs diet. Not only are they a natural and tasty treat, but more importantly they are packed with nutrients and antioxidants which can boost your dogs overall health and well being.

The antioxidants in blueberries are essential in scavenging and helping to decompose free radicals. Because of this, blueberries can help fight and stave off cardiovascular disease, inflammations, cataracts and even cancer!

They are also rich in vitamin C and K, making them great at boosting the immune system and fighting off various infections and illnesses, as well as keep their brains sharp and can even aid in healthier digestion.

Please be aware that as with any fruit, natural sugar is present and too much sugar can cause stomach aches and so they should be given in small quantities, especially when initially introducing your dog to them as a treat.

Blueberries can be served as fresh or frozen, or can even be pureed to ensure there is no choking hazard. They can simply be added to their food or even added to ingredients list of a homeade snack or treat. However you choose to serve, please be aware that some fruits can potentially cause allergic reactions in dogs and humans, so start serving size in moderation and monitor to make sure that there are no negative reactions.
